If Johnny 5 has been created today, he'd have been designed to work in Iraq or Afghanistan.  Also, he wouldn't have ever uttered the phrase "Need Input!" as he'd have had wireless and/or satellite connections to both the military and civilian internets.  Also, he'd still be a lifeless robot, since we use surge suppressors these days.
