On Becoming A Glass Explorer #throughglass
A low-res picture of me (taken from my Mac, not Glass).
Over the weekend while I was in California, I picked up my Google Glass. It’s a very interesting device so far, though I’ve not had nearly as much time to play with it as I would have liked to this point. It takes a bit of getting used to, and doesn’t work exactly the way you’d think. It’s designed to be unobtrusive, and so doesn’t actually sit in your line of vision like you’d expect – it sits a little above your line of sight.
I’m going to give it a little more time before I do a full review – I need to spend more time using it. However, I can see if being very useful for:
- police officers and/or anyone in law enforcement who needs ongoing records of their work (morgue autopsies perhaps?)
- people doing cooking shows (you get a 1st person perspective on what the chef is doing)
- sports enthusiasts (I don’t know how it compares to Go Pro price-wise but it’s much lighter and can do more things)
I’m going to continue giving that some more thought and will report back as to what I think in a few days!
