I Get to Celebrate Father’s Day Next Year!

So it’s been a while since I’ve posted…. and there’s really no excuse for that. I could say I’ve been busy (yes), on holidays (yes), and a myriad of other things, but realistically, I’ve just been doing other things and not prioritising blogging. I can’t say that will change, but I’m going to have another go at it. I did manage to post for 66 days in a row at the beginning of the year, so there’s hope yet. 😉

As the title of the post indicates, my wife and I are expecting our first child in May! I always feel a bit disingenuous saying “my wife and I” in that context, since really she’s doing the difficult part, but I’m doing my best to make sure they’re both happy, healthy, and comfortable.

Here’s a picture of the pregnancy announcement we recently sent out:

I got the cool frames effect by using a Prezi template.

Here’s a picture of the little guy himself:

At 14 weeks, he likes to move around quite a bit already. He may take after me a bit more than is good for him. 😉

(Also, this image is surprisingly motivating.)

In case you’re wondering why I’m referring to him as “him”…. preliminary indications (a non-scientific urine test) are that he is indeed a boy! (I often typo that as “bot” and I’m really hoping we don’t birth a Cylon.) His due date is very close to my birthday, and as my wife and I are nine days (and nine years) apart, there’s a chance that I’ll be 40 and she’ll be 30 when he’s born. There’s only six months to go and then we get to meet the little guy in person!
